About Manas College
Manas College of Science, Technology and Management, Pithoragarh: our vision, our leadership and our journey towards Manas Vocational University.
The world is changing faster than any syllabus. Artificial intelligence, digital finance, healthcare and tourism are rewriting what work looks like, and the careers of tomorrow will belong to people who can learn, adapt and create. I believe the young people of Uttarakhand can lead that change, not watch it from a distance.
That belief is why Manas College exists. India’s National Education Policy 2020 asks for vocational education to stand shoulder to shoulder with academic learning. We took that vision seriously from day one: real skills, industry exposure and an entrepreneur’s mindset are built into every course we teach.
My dream is bigger than placements. I want to see our graduates start enterprises, employ their neighbours and turn the Himalaya into a hub of skill, enterprise and innovation. That is why we are building towards Manas Vocational University, a centre of skills for the entire Himalayan region, as India marches towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
To every student who joins us: you are not just enrolling in a course. You are joining a movement to prove that world-class talent can be built in the hills. Bring your curiosity and your commitment, and together we will shape a future the whole country will notice. कौशलेनैव सिद्धिरवाप्यते: success comes through skill.
When we founded Manas College, we saw a painful pattern. Talented young people from Pithoragarh and across Kumaon were leaving home, often too early and at great cost, in search of an education that leads to a livelihood. Many never came back.
Manas exists to change that story. We chose vocational education because a skill is something no one can take away from you. A trained nutritionist, developer, banker or chef can earn anywhere in India, or build an enterprise right here in the hills and create work for others.
Our goal is bigger than one college. We are building towards Manas Vocational University, so that the mountains become a place where careers begin, not a place young people must leave. I invite every student and every parent to be part of this journey.
